What Notary Services Dubai does
Notary Services Dubai provides notary public services from our office in Business Bay, Dubai. When you send us a document, we check it against what the notary, MOFAIC or the embassy will require, draft or format it if it needs that, and translate it where a legal translator is needed. Our in-house notary public then checks your identity, witnesses your signature and applies the seal, in person at our office, online, or at your home.

Most people arrive here confused about which office does what: a power of attorney, an affidavit, a certified true copy of a bank statement and a MOFAIC attestation are four different processes with four different outcomes. Notarization, attestation and certified true copy: the difference
These three words get used interchangeably, and that is where most mistakes happen.

Ministry of Justice E-Notary system
A federal system for remote and electronic notarial acts, useful when personal attendance in Dubai is not possible. It is usually used when the person does not hold UAE residency.

Not every notarial act requires you to sit in an office. Some documents can be handled through the Ministry of Justice E-Notary system or with a notary attending you rather than the other way round, and some requests are genuinely time-sensitive.

Who does not need us
If your matter falls under DIFC jurisdiction, DIFC Courts runs its own notary service and that is the correct route, not an onshore Dubai notary. If you already hold a notary appointment and simply need translation or courier support, tell us that directly so we do not duplicate what is already arranged.

Avoid these
Common mistakes that cause delays
- Bringing a photocopy of an ID document instead of the original.
- Signing a power of attorney before the notary appointment. The notary needs to witness the signature.
- Assuming a document notarised in the UAE is automatically valid abroad without the attestation and, where relevant, embassy steps that follow it.
- Asking for an apostille. The UAE does not accept apostilles: it is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so the document needs attestation instead.
- Leaving translation to the last minute when the notary requires an Arabic version prepared by a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice.

Are public notary services in Dubai free?
No. Notarial acts carried out through the Dubai Courts notary public and licensed private notaries are charged under a set fee schedule, and private notaries add a professional fee on top of the government rate.
Can a document be notarised without a notary stamp?
No. The notary’s seal or stamp, alongside the signature and any record kept by the notary, is part of what makes a document notarised. A document without it has not gone through notarisation.
What attestation is required for documents used in the UAE?
A foreign document usually needs attestation in the country where it was issued, sometimes including the UAE embassy there, followed by MOFAIC attestation once it reaches the UAE. Can a notarised letter be handwritten?
The content can be drafted by hand in some cases, but most notaries and authorities expect a typed document so the wording is clear and unambiguous. We can help format or type a document that is currently handwritten.
Can I get a notarised letter if I am outside the UAE?
In some cases, yes, through the Ministry of Justice E-Notary system or by using a power of attorney to authorise someone in the UAE to act for you. Which option fits depends on the document.
Do I need an Arabic translation before notarisation?
Many notarised instruments in the UAE are drafted in Arabic, sometimes alongside an English version, and any translation used officially must come from a legal translator registered with the UAE Ministry of Justice. We have it translated as part of preparing your document where it is needed.
